MMK Today ("we", "us") publishes unofficial Myanmar market information — gold prices, exchange rates, fuel and edible-oil references — plus a separate USD crypto market panel sourced from CoinGecko. This policy explains what data this website collects and what we do with it.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not require you to submit personal details in order to view rates, use the converters or read this site.

• Information you provide by email. If you contact us at info@mmktoday.com, we receive the message and whatever personal information you choose to include.
• Technical data collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.

Visitor counts

The audience card reports the number of browsers seen in the last five minutes, visitors for the current Yangon day, and an all-time total of unique browser IDs. These are browser counts, not a verified count of individual people.

• The visitor-count feature does not collect IP address, user-agent string, device, city or location. Our hosting provider may separately log standard request data as described above.
• A random browser ID is kept in local storage until you clear it. Clearing storage or using another browser/private window can make the same person count again.
• The all-time total stores only a one-way fingerprint of that random ID, indefinitely, to prevent repeat counting. We expose the aggregate total only; we do not publish a visitor list or build a named visitor profile.
• “Visitors today” uses the Asia/Yangon calendar day and resets at Yangon midnight. “Online now” means a browser pinged within the last five minutes. We do not collect or display a pages-today count.
• Daily count rows contain the random browser ID and heartbeat timestamps only; no page path is retained. They remain in the database until an operator cleanup; the migration recommends deleting rows older than 30 days, but that cleanup is not automated by the app.

We use these aggregate counts to understand general site usage. We do not share a visitor list with anyone.

Visitor notes

You may send a short note using the form beside the exchange-rate table. A name or nickname is optional; you may also choose one of the MMK Today coin avatars. Your note is held for review and is not public unless Hein approves it. If approved, the note, chosen avatar and name appear on this page until removed.

• Please do not include phone numbers, addresses, financial-account details or other private information.
• We store the submitted note, optional display name, selected avatar and submission time. Notes remain in the review database until Hein removes them. We do not attach an IP address or device details to the note.
• When Telegram review is enabled, the note, optional name and avatar choice are sent to Hein’s private Telegram bot chat for moderation.
• The random browser ID is also used to limit submissions to one note per browser per Yangon day. It is kept in a separate daily rate-limit table and is never shown publicly. Clearing browser storage may reset this limit.

Advertising and third parties

This site may display advertising. Advertising partners — including ad networks — may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies to collect information about your activity on this and other websites in order to serve ads that are relevant to you.

Google AdSense. This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Where advertising is shown, it is clearly marked and kept separate from our price data. Sponsored content does not influence which rates we publish or how we calculate them.

The crypto panel requests public CoinGecko market data from our server. Those requests do not include your browser ID, page path, advertising identifier, or visitor-note details.

The news panel is refreshed by our server reading public market channels. The request carries no information about you, and the headlines we publish contain no visitor data.

We do not control the data practices of third-party sites. If you follow a link to another website, that site's own policy applies.

Cookies

MMK Today itself does not set tracking cookies. Advertising partners may set their own — including Google, which may use cookies or web beacons to serve ads and to measure their performance. You can limit or remove cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" option.

How we use information

• To operate, secure and maintain the website.
• To respond to messages you send us.
• To understand general, aggregated usage so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Rates shown on this site are unofficial parallel-market references collected from public sources. They are provided for information only, may be delayed or incomplete, and are not a substitute for your own verification. See our Terms & Disclaimer.

Your rights

If you believe we hold personal information about you and would like it removed, or you have a question about this policy, email info@mmktoday.com. We will respond as reasonably as possible.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
